How to assemble a dresser with a mirror

• Allen key (supplied)
• Cross-head screwdriver
• Small hammer
• Tape measure
• Work gloves
• Wall fixings to suit your wall

Before you start, lay everything out on a soft surface (the flattened box works) and check it against the parts list in your manual.

• Carcass panels and back
• Drawer boxes and fronts
• Drawer runners
• Framed mirror and mirror brackets
• Bolts, cam locks, dowels and anti-tip kit

   Step 1: Unpack the mirror first and lean it face in against a wall, on its long edge, away from where you are working.

   Step 2: Build the dresser carcass on its back, fitting the drawer rails between the sides and locking every cam.

   Step 3: Measure the carcass diagonals, square it up, and fix the back panel with all the nails or screws provided.

   Step 4: Assemble the drawers and fit their runners, labelling each drawer to its opening if the drawer sizes differ.

   Step 5: Stand the dresser in place, slide the drawers in, and fix the anti-tip kit to the wall.

   Step 6: Screw the mirror brackets to the back of the top, with the drawers out so the dresser is easier to reach behind.

   Step 7: With one person holding the mirror, bolt it to the brackets hand tight, check it is upright, then tighten fully.

• Fitting the mirror before the dresser is anchored, making it top-heavy while you work.
• Overtightening the mirror bolts and cracking the frame or glass.
• Mixing up drawers of different depths between openings.
