How to assemble a foosball table

• Cross-head screwdriver
• Allen keys (supplied)
• Rubber mallet
• Spirit level

Before you start, lay everything out on a soft surface (the flattened box works) and check it against the parts list in your manual.

• Side and end panels
• Playfield
• Eight rods with bearings
• Player figures, bumpers and handles
• Legs, levellers and goal boxes
• Balls and scoring counters

   Step 1: Build the box upside down: join the end panels to one side panel and slide the playfield into its grooves.

   Step 2: Fit the second side panel loosely so you can still angle it for the rods.

   Step 3: Lay out the rods in order from one goal: goalkeeper, defence, midfield, attack, and the same mirrored for the other team.

   Step 4: Push each rod through its bearing, threading on the bumpers and player figures in the order and orientation the manual shows, and fix each player with its pin or bolt.

   Step 5: Tighten the second side panel, then bolt on the legs and cross braces.

   Step 6: Turn the table over with a helper, fit the goal boxes, handles and scoring counters.

   Step 7: Level the playfield with the leg adjusters and check every rod spins and slides freely.

• Threading a player on backwards or forgetting a bumper, which means taking the rod out again.
• Putting the goalkeeper rods on the wrong ends.
• Overtightening the player fixings so they crack.
