How to assemble a stroller from the box

• No tools usually needed
• The product manual

Before you start, lay everything out on a soft surface (the flattened box works) and check it against the parts list in your manual.

• Folded frame
• Front and rear wheels
• Canopy
• Bumper bar
• Seat unit or carrycot, if separate
• Harness pads and basket

   Step 1: Unfold the frame as the manual shows until the fold lock clicks on both sides, and check it will not fold if you press down on the handle.

   Step 2: Push each rear wheel onto its axle until it clicks, then pull hard on it to prove it is locked.

   Step 3: Fit the front swivel wheels the same way and pull test them too.

   Step 4: Clip the canopy into its brackets on both sides and open it once to check it does not rub on the wheels.

   Step 5: Fit the seat unit or carrycot in the direction you want, listen for the click on both sides, and lift it to check it is locked.

   Step 6: Clip on the bumper bar, adjust the harness to your child's shoulder height, and fasten and release the buckle once to learn it.

   Step 7: Press the brake with your foot and push the stroller to check both rear wheels are held.

• Not pull-testing wheels, so one comes off on a kerb.
• Hanging heavy bags on the handle, which can tip the stroller backwards.
• Using the bumper bar instead of the harness to hold the child in.
