How to assemble a play yard

• No tools needed
• The product manual

Before you start, lay everything out on a soft surface (the flattened box works) and check it against the parts list in your manual.

• Folded frame with mesh sides
• Floor board or mattress pad made for it
• Carry bag
• Bassinet insert or changer, if included

   Step 1: Unfold the frame with the centre hub pointing down and leave the hub raised for now; the top rails will not lock with the hub pushed down.

   Step 2: Lift each top rail in the middle until it clicks. Pull up on every rail afterwards to prove it is locked.

   Step 3: Once all four rails are locked, push the centre hub down to the floor so the frame spreads out and stands firm.

   Step 4: Put the floor board or pad in, soft side up, and fasten any hook-and-loop straps underneath through the floor openings.

   Step 5: If there is a bassinet insert, clip it onto the rails only as the manual shows and only within its weight and age limits.

   Step 6: Check that the pad fits the floor with no gap at the edges and that the play yard sits flat without rocking.

   Step 7: To fold, lift the hub first, then press the release in each rail; forcing a rail before lifting the hub bends it.

• Adding an extra mattress or folded blanket, which creates gaps and a soft surface.
• Using it with one rail not fully locked.
• Keeping the bassinet insert in after the baby passes its limits.
