How to assemble a rattan corner sofa

• Allen key (supplied)
• Spanner
• Cross-head screwdriver

Before you start, lay everything out on a soft surface (the flattened box works) and check it against the parts list in your manual.

• Corner module and seat modules
• Armrests or end panels
• Connecting brackets or clips
• Seat and back cushions
• Coffee table with glass top (if included)

   Step 1: Unwrap each module on a soft surface and check the woven weave for splits caused in transit before you start.

   Step 2: Fit any armrests or end panels to the end modules with the bolts given, using the Allen key and keeping the bolts snug.

   Step 3: Adjust the screw-in feet on each module so they all sit at the same height, especially on an uneven patio.

   Step 4: Place the corner module in position, then line up the seat modules on each side so the frames touch along their full length.

   Step 5: Join the modules with the connecting brackets or clips underneath, so the sections cannot slide apart when someone sits down.

   Step 6: Build the table by fitting its legs or placing the glass top into its recess, checking the glass sits flat on all its rubber pads.

   Step 7: Add the cushions with the zips facing back or down, and store them indoors or in a storage box when not in use.

• Skipping the connecting clips, so the modules drift apart and leave a gap to fall into.
• Leaving cushions out in the rain, where they soak through and grow mould.
• Levelling the feet by eye rather than sitting on each seat to check for rocking.
